On the second Friday of every month, the City of Sunrise Civic Center hosts the Tunes ‘N Trucks Concert Series. Tunes are from the free concert, Trucks are the awesome Gourmet Food Trucks.
Don’t let the “Gourmet” scare you. The prices are reasonable, and there are options for every budget.
I was feeling for something light this particular evening, so it was between Gene’s Joint and Ps561.
Gene’s Joint offers standard Deli fare, even French Fries! I decided to try my luck with a gourmet hot dog from Ps561. The menu was awesome. It took me a minute to consider the flavor combinations being offered.
In the end, I went for the popular choice, “The Doug E. Fre$h”. The combination of Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ *(I am partial to Sweet Baby Ray’s), 561 Sauce (Cilantro Cream) *(yummy!!), Bacon *(need I say more?), Cheddar, and Onions. Just what the doctor ordered.
I must compliment the fellas running the Ps561 Food Truck, rounding out the meal with friendly service made the experience a pleasure. Cheers to the guys on the PS561 Truck!
A Good time was had by all!
