Food trucks first made their appearance in 2008.
Originated in Los Angeles, two friends had a novel idea of mixing Mexican tacos and Korean barbecue.
Deciding to sell them from a truck, they took a ride and never stopped!
But, why did it work?
At this time, the economy was starting to falter.
There was less money to spend on eating out, and restaurants tend to have high overhead.
It became possible for customers to get a high quality meal for a lot less money.
Frankly, both buyers and sellers found it more economical.
Today, it’s now an 800 million dollar industry.
Social media then brought food trucks to another level!
Food trucks developed followers and their location and menus utilized social media to let their patrons know where they would be, the time they would be there and menu choices.
With chefs right behind the counter, both patrons and chefs had an opportunity to interact on a daily basis … and the rest is history!
