Last summer, School District 51 of Mesa County, Colorado realized they had a problem.
About 44% of their students were at or near poverty level.
They developed a plan to start feeding their hungry students.
The school district recognized the danger hunger brings to a child’s ability to learn.
So, they bought a food truck.
Now, with help from the students at Colorado Mesa University, a second food truck will be purchased.
An anonymous donor is willing to match funds towards this goal.
What a great way to drive away hunger!
