Mike Diamond (Mike D), celebrity chef Sam Talbot, and designer/hotelier Robert McKinley were some of the heroes who came to help in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

Their Rockaway Plate Lunch Truck served 500 lunches per day in the days post this natural disaster.

Often, the chicken and rice and beans dishes were prepared by top chefs.

Then, after people regained their “footing”, the food truck was turned into a sustainable business and mentoring business.

It just goes to show food trucks just don’t serve food, they serve people.
