New Orleans has the right idea!
Up in until now, food trucks must work under a “special events “permit that allow a truck to operate for only one day.
However, in a wonderful pilot program, the city is granting a 2 week permit for trucks to operate in an empty non-residential lot.
The trucks would be allowed to operate from 6 am – 8 pm.
A group of food trucks is already looking to extend these hours.
Austin and Oregon have already found success in these programs.
Hopefully, more cities will start similar programs!
