So how did the food truck craze start in South Florida?
Well, some believe it all began with a fellow by the name of Jim Heins.
After spending a year in St. Bart’s (inspiration of Jimmy Buffet’s “Cheeseburger in Paradise”), Jim thought it would be a great idea to bring some the delicious hamburger ideas back home.
So he returned to Miami and by November of 2009, he sent out his first tweet advertising the “Latin Burger and Taco” food truck.
How did he fare?
Well, by 2012 Jim was looking to open up his first brick and mortar restaurant.
Unfortunately, that did not remain open but his food truck lives on!
