A NEW INVESTMENT
Hong Kong’s Commerce Minister recently announced a delicious proposition.
Twelve food trucks will be allowed in prime locations in an attempt to boost tourism.
- Wan Chai – one of Hong Kong’s busiest commercial areas
- Central District – popular commercial district
- Ocean Park – marine mammal park
- Hong Kong Disneyland – no explanation needed
GOAL
It’s hoped that the food trucks both boost industry and introduce patrons to a more diverse menu.
Commerce secretary, Greg So Kam-leung, does not believe they will compete with more traditional restaurants.
INSPIRATION
The inspiration for this venture came from the movie, Chef!
REGULATIONS
Trucks must “look nice.”
Foods must be creative and high in quality.
In fact, a special panel tasted the foods prior to service.
